The sixth edition of the African Edutech Conference is set to take place later this year, bringing together stakeholders from across the continent to discuss and explore the future of education technology. Organized by the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) and Edufirst ng, in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), this landmark event promises to be a pivotal moment in the re-engineering of Africa’s educational landscape.
With a focus on leveraging technology to enhance educational outcomes, UBEC’s strategic initiatives aim to integrate digital tools and resources into classrooms nationwide. The Digital Resource Center (DRC) will serve as a hub for digital learning resources, providing access to high-quality educational materials and training for educators.
Despite challenges such as inadequate funding, poor internet services, and a shortage of technological facilities, experts believe that educational technology can revolutionize the teaching and learning process in Nigeria. The conference will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and exhibitions showcasing the latest in educational technology innovations.
NBCC’s Executive Secretary, Kasha Iliya, emphasized the organization’s commitment to supporting the adoption of technology in education, while Edufirst ng’s Assistant General Manager, Chinyere Emeruwa, highlighted the conference’s objectives and the progress made in the past five editions.
The sixth edition of the African Edutech Conference promises to be a catalyst for change, driving forward the digital transformation of education in Africa. With preparations underway, NBCC, Edufirst ng, and UBEC remain committed to ensuring that this conference surpasses all previous efforts, making it the most impactful yet.
