In a troubling development, 17-year-old Favour Iyoriehe, a student at the New Age Academy Group of Schools, Benin City has been declared wanted by the Edo State Police Command after she allegedly fled bail conditions stemming from a suspected murder case. Born on July 7, 1997, Iyoriehe was arrested on March 10, 2014, following a tragic incident that led to the death of her classmate, Faith.

On the day of the incident, Favour and her friends Joy and Precious left their school to confront Faith, a Student of Army Day Secondary School who was already excused from class for a prior dispute with Precious, her neighbor. Tensions escalated when the three visitors and Faith engaged in a heated altercation, resulting in Faith being struck with an object. In the midst of the chaos, Joy and Precious fled the scene, leaving Favour behind as she called for help.

School authorities quickly responded to the commotion and rushed Faith to the hospital, where she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. Following the tragic event, Favour was apprehended by police for questioning, which ultimately led to the detention of her friends Precious and Joy.

On March 14, 2014, Favour was granted conditional bail due to her parents’ attorney’s intervention, with a requirement to report back to the police by March 17. However, she failed to comply, prompting the police to label her a fugitive and raising concerns about her evasion of justice. The case continues to develop as authorities search for Favour Iyoriehe and seek to ensure accountability in this grave matter.
