The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) and the Ministry of Youth Development have launched an initiative to train 1 million Nigerian youths in the insurance programme. This partnership aims to promote insurance awareness, boost youth entrepreneurship, and create employment opportunities across the country.

The programme, tagged “One Million Youths in Insurance”, is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s project to create more jobs and empower youths. The initiative will sensitize Nigerian youths to the importance of insurance, foster entrepreneurship, and provide financial protection and peace of mind.

The programme will also promote insurance awareness on social media and other platforms, boost the insurance industry in Nigeria, and accelerate the country’s Financial Inclusion mandate. The Commissioner for Insurance thanked the Minister of State for Youths, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, for his commitment to the project and expressed appreciation to all parties involved.

The Minister of State for Youth Development welcomed the Commissioner for Insurance and his team and expressed delight at the signing of the MOU. He highlighted the importance of insurance in the economy and the need to sensitize Nigerian youths to its benefits. The programme is expected to create employment opportunities across the 774 Local Government Areas of Nigeria.

This initiative is a significant step towards empowering Nigerian youths and promoting the growth of the insurance industry in the country. With this partnership, NAICOM and the Ministry of Youth Development are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of Nigerian youths and the economy at large.
