Customers of Zenith Bank and GTBank continue to experience poor services weeks after the banks claimed to have completed their migration to new core banking platforms.

Despite assurances from the banks that normal services have been restored, customers are still facing failed transactions, disappearing account balances, and frustration.

The prolonged service disruptions have raised concerns about the plans of other banks to embark on similar core banking migrations. Access Bank, for instance, is expected to announce its system upgrade soon, which has created apprehension among its customers.

The experiences shared by customers of the two banks are harrowing, with many unable to access their accounts or carry out transactions. The banks’ silence on the matter has only added to the frustration, with customers taking to social media to express their dissatisfaction.

Experts say that migrating to a new core banking system is a tedious process that may take time to stabilize, but BusinessNG notes that better communication from the banks is necessary to manage customers’ expectations and mitigate their frustration.
