The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State convened its quarterly general meeting on November 4, 2024, rallying members to strengthen party unity, address internal issues, and celebrate the defection of over 100 members from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The event, which was held at Ayetoro-Ile and hosted by the Senator Hosea Agboola Alleluyah Group, was a show of solidarity and growing momentum for the PDP in the region.

Hon. Ogunsola Anthony, representing the Iwajowa State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, expressed optimism about the party’s prospects in Iwajowa.
“We are committed to fortifying our ranks and resolving any challenges within the PDP at the grassroots. This unity is what will drive our collective progress,” he said.
Hon. Abdul Jelili Oyinloye, former Chairman of Iwajowa LG, praised Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, emphasizing its contributions across key sectors.
“Governor Makinde has been a catalyst for development, and it’s evident in the transformative impact his leadership has brought to Oyo State,” Oyinloye remarked.

“Our people recognize this, which is why we see a wave of support and new members joining our cause.”
The meeting also marked the formal welcome of over a hundred defectors from the APC.
Among them were Comrade Olayode Rafiu of Ward 05 and Mr. Olanrewaju Mufutau of Ward 03, who pledged their allegiance to the PDP.
Addressing the new members, Hon. Ogunsola Anthony noted, “Your decision to join the PDP signals a shift towards a progressive future for Iwajowa. Together, we will build a stronger community that reflects the values and vision of the PDP.”

The atmosphere at the gathering was one of encouragement and shared purpose as party leaders called on members to focus on reinforcing the PDP’s standing in Iwajowa and beyond.
Hon. Anthony urged members to maintain their dedication, noting, “The future of our party lies in our unity and commitment to one another.”
Dignitaries at the event included Mr. Wasiu Fasola, PDP Chairman; Alhaja Saka Ganiyat Lasomi; Hon. Tijani Yekeen (aka Jelo); Alhaji Salaudeen Olokunola; Hon. Soliu Fatokun; Pa M. O. Adio; Alhaji Kara; Hon. Rasheed Eyinade, and other notable figures representing all ten wards of Iwajowa LG.
The meeting underscored the growing support for the PDP, as members look forward to building on the achievements of Governor Makinde’s administration and strengthening the party’s influence across Oyo State.
