The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has dismissed a viral video alleging that it sells adulterated fuel in bottles and jerrycans. In the video, a man pours a dark liquid, claiming it is Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) purchased from an NNPC retail outlet at Keffi Flyover. NNPC has conducted spot checks at its outlets and asserts that the claim is false.
NNPC emphasized that its retail stations do not dispense fuel into bottles or jerrycans and do not sell adulterated products. The company maintains strict quality control and safety measures to ensure that only high-quality petroleum products are available at its stations nationwide.
NNPC urged the public to disregard the misleading claims in the video, warning against “selfish and unpatriotic elements” pushing narratives harmful to Nigeria. The company reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining accurate pump calibration and quality across all stations nationwide.
