Omolola Oloworaran has been confirmed as the Director General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom) following the approval of the Nigerian Senate on November 20, 2024. She had been serving in an acting capacity since July 2024, awaiting confirmation as stipulated by the Pension Reform Act 2014.

With over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Oloworaran brings a wealth of expertise to PenCom. She began her career at Citibank and has held leadership roles at several prestigious firms, including Renaissance Capital, Stanbic IBTC Bank, and First Bank, where she served as the Group Head of First Shared Services. Oloworaran is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment (CISI). She holds an MBA from Manchester Business School and has advanced training from INSEAD Business School in France.

Oloworaran is a strong advocate for innovation and process reengineering in the pension sector. She aims to drive the growth of pension assets, expand the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), and improve collaboration within the pension industry. A key focus of her leadership is ensuring the timely payment of retirement benefits while maximizing investment returns for contributors and retirees. Her confirmation positions her to continue advancing PenCom’s mandate of enhancing Nigeria’s pension landscape.
