The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to workers’ welfare by confirming the payment of the new N70,000 minimum wage, contrary to reports excluding the state from the list of compliant states.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, the administration of Governor Charles Soludo emphasized that payment of the revised wage began in October 2024, aligning with the Federal Government’s directive to improve workers’ living standards.
“Governor Soludo has consistently demonstrated his dedication to labour welfare. Anambra State workers not only receive the new minimum wage but also receive salary alerts on or before the 25th of every month,” the statement highlighted.
The state government also announced an upward adjustment in pensions, ensuring higher take-home pay for pensioners. This measure reinforces Governor Soludo’s reputation as a labour-friendly leader.
The government urged the public to disregard misleading reports, reiterating its unwavering commitment to the improved welfare of Anambra workers and retirees.
