The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Police Affairs, Mr. James Sule, has retired after 35 years of dedicated service to the nation, leaving behind a charge to directors in the Ministry to embrace mentorship as a key tool for effective service delivery.

Speaking at a send-forth ceremony held in his honor at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, Mr. Sule emphasized the importance of leadership at every level of the organization. He encouraged officers to act as role models and prioritize accountability, fairness, and transparency in their roles.

“We are all leaders,” he said. “It’s not just about the president or governors. In your community, workplace, or wherever you find yourself, strive to mentor younger officers and contribute positively to others. Leadership begins with upholding the rules and ensuring fairness, regardless of personal feelings.”

The retired Permanent Secretary expressed gratitude to the Ministry’s management and staff, commending their teamwork and dedication during his tenure. “It was a privilege to work with such a talented and committed team,” he remarked. “Together, we achieved great milestones, and I am proud of what we accomplished, even in a short period.”

In a tribute to Mr. Sule, the Director Overseeing the Permanent Secretary’s Office, Mr. Yusuf Abubakar Argungu, highlighted the impact of his mentorship and leadership. “This is not the end, but the beginning of a new chapter. Retirement is an opportunity to embark on exciting journeys,” he said.

The event was attended by senior officials of the Ministry, including directors and department heads, who shared heartfelt messages of appreciation and well wishes for the retired Permanent Secretary.
