Jubilant staff of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) on Thursday gathered at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja to celebrate the Executive Chairman, Zacch Adedeji, Ph.D., for his exceptional welfare initiatives.
Arriving early, the workers carried placards with messages like “We love you Zacch” and “You’re a man of the people”, singing and dancing in appreciation. Their excitement heightened when Adedeji arrived, leading him to his office amid cheers.
A statement by Sikiru Akinola, Adedeji’s Technical Assistant (Print Media), highlighted the staff’s gratitude for salary increases and improved welfare packages introduced under his leadership.
One staff member noted, “Adedeji is deliberate and mindful of us. He’s a boss and a friend. His actions, like the recent salary increment, show his commitment to our welfare.”
Another staff member added, “He listens to us and ensures we’re motivated to meet the ambitious N19.4 trillion target for 2024. His efforts are unprecedented.”
In just over a year, Adedeji’s leadership has earned widespread admiration, with many calling his tenure transformational. Saluting the crowd, Adedeji expressed his gratitude for their support.
