The Annual Maritime Students and Youth (AMSAY) Conference, organized by Platforms Communications, continues to spotlight Nigeria’s brightest maritime talents.

At its 5th edition held on May 27, 2019, one exceptional student stole the show—Miss Jane Onyinye Ogwo. A graduate of Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Jane emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Maritime Student in Nigeria for the 2018 academic year with an impressive 4.90 CGPA.

Her outstanding performance earned her three prestigious awards:

Best Graduating Student in Maritime Management Technology 2018

Best Graduating Female Maritime Student in Nigeria 2018

Overall Best Graduating Maritime Student in Nigeria 2018

The accolades did not stop there. Elkins Marine Training International (EMTI) announced a ₦100,000 cash gift and offered her free professional maritime training. The recognition extended beyond the conference when a philanthropist from her home state, Abia, sponsored her for further studies abroad.

Jane’s journey led her to Poland, where she completed her master’s degree and began a successful career in the maritime industry. Now working in Poland, she stands as a proud ambassador of the AMSAY Conference and its vision of nurturing maritime excellence.

The AMSAY Conference has proven to be more than an event—it is a platform shaping the future of Nigeria’s maritime industry. Jane Onyinye Ogwo’s story is a testament to its transformative impact.
