University of Lagos (UNILAG) College of Medicine (CMUL) has announced that it would hold 8th Felix Oladejo Dosekun (FOD) Memorial Lecture.

The announcement was made in Lagos on Monday by the Deputy Provost, Prof Daniel Odebiyi at the college board room.

Odebiyi said that the lecture themed “Medicine Curriculum and Artificial Intelligence: The Meeting Point and Path to Follow” will take place at 11 a.m. at the Old Great Hall, CMUL, Idi Araba.

He said that the lecture will be delivered by an alumnus of the college, the Deputy National President of Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) Chief Dr. Emi Membere-Otaji.

“The Memorial Lecture is a biennial ceremony in honor of Late Professor Felix Oladejo Dosekun, for his trail blazing records as the first Vice Dean of UNILAG Medical School, first Deputy Provost and second Provost of the CMUL as well as first Emeritus Professor of the University of Lagos, Nigeria” Odebiyi said.

The Dep Provost said that the expectations from the lecture was very high and to raise funds to complete ongoing projects in the college.

He said that ongoing projects in the college includes clinical skills building, animal house, block M and other projects.

He said that there would be a special focus on clinical skills building and interactive mannequin where Artificial Intelligence would be more useful.

He said that the whole essence was to use the lecture to enhance medical education on Artificial Intelligence and faculty members.
