The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has pledged its support for Heritage Energy & Oil Services Limited’s ambitious plans to enhance oil production on Oil Mining Lease (OML) 30. This commitment was made during a meeting at the NCDMB’s Lagos liaison office between the board’s Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, and a delegation from Heritage Energy and its joint venture partners, Shoreline Natural Resources and NNPC Exploration and Production Limited (NEPL).

Heritage, the operator of OML 30 on behalf of the Shoreline/NEPCL joint venture, outlined its plans to boost production from 45,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 100,000 bpd by 2030. Achieving this goal will involve extensive drilling of new wells, gas development projects aligned with Nigeria’s gas master plan, and strategic investments in flare gas gathering, gas monetization, and produced water disposal to enhance efficiency.

The company has already launched a four-rig campaign targeting underdeveloped fields, with expectations of substantial production increases over the next five years. In addition, Heritage is investing heavily in upgrading the Trans Forcados Pipeline (TFP) to support increased crude evacuation from OML 30 and other reliant assets.

During the meeting, the Heritage delegation requested NCDMB’s expedited approval of various documents necessary for its drilling and development projects, including Technical Invitations to Tender, Nigeria Content Compliance Certificates, and Human Capacity Development approvals.

Commending Heritage and its partners, Engr. Ogbe expressed NCDMB’s readiness to support the consortium’s expansion initiatives, citing the potential for increased oil and gas production, job creation, and economic growth. He noted that the board’s commitment aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda for Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

OML 30, located onshore within the Niger Delta, spans 1,097 square kilometers and includes eight active fields: Olomoro, Oleh, Uweh, Uzere, Ewvreni, Eremu, Oroni, and Kokori, along with several partially appraised fields with significant oil and gas reserves.

Senior NCDMB officials present at the meeting included Mr. Isaac Yalah, Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics; Engr. Abayomi Bamidele, Director of Project Certification & Authorization; Mr. Esueme Dan Kikile, General Manager of Corporate Communication and Zonal Coordination; and Ms. Amanda Yekorogha, General Manager of Strategy and Transformation Projects.
