My name is Temitope Okugboye. I am the only child of the late Chief Babatunde Emmanuel Okugboye and his wife, Adebisi Okugboye. Following my father’s demise, his siblings – Segun Okugboye, Bolaji Okugboye, and Yemisi Adeyemi – have relentlessly threatened my life and that of my family.
The first attack occurred on June 8th, 2023, and just two days later, on June 10th, 2023, I filed my first petition seeking protection. However, the threats and violence continued. I was attacked again on December 3rd, 2023, and subsequently filed a second petition on December 11th, 2023.
What makes my situation even more precarious is that Mr. Segun Okugboye, one of my uncles, is not only a strong politician but also a prominent transporter with extensive connections all over Nigeria. His influence and reach have made it increasingly difficult for me to seek help and protection.
I have been attacked twice, and our home and vehicle have been vandalized. Despite reporting these incidents to Ibara Police Station, the perpetrators remain at large, and I continue to live in fear. One of my uncles has even boasted openly about his intention to harm me, forcing me to flee my home and seek refuge elsewhere.
I urge the authorities to intervene and provide me with the necessary protection to ensure my safety and well-being. I am desperate for help and fear for my life every day.
