In a strategic move to promote proactive healthcare and long-term well-being, CHI Pharma, a prominent Nigerian pharmaceutical company and a member of the Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group, partnered with the Lagos Chapter of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria – Young Pharmacists Group (PSN-YPG) to host its first-quarter general meeting.

The event, held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, brought together young pharmacists and healthcare professionals to address growing concerns around nutrient deficiencies and the increasing need for daily supplementation in modern lifestyles.

Delivering the keynote address, Pharm. Bunmi Olugbeja, CEO of Primeah Pharmacy, highlighted the silent threat of nutrient depletion driven by poor dietary habits, medication use, and food processing. She emphasized the necessity of daily supplementation in filling nutritional gaps that compromise immune function and long-term health.

“Many essential nutrients, aside from Vitamin D, must come from external sources,” she explained. “However, factors like soil depletion, prolonged cooking, and certain medications prevent many individuals from getting what their bodies need. It’s time we recognize supplementation as a core aspect of preventive healthcare.”
