In a move to deepen youth engagement and grassroots development, the Secretary to the Ojokoro Local Council Development Area, Kola Omisore, is set to host the 20th edition of the KOLAtoons 5-a-side Football Tournament on Friday, April 18, 2025.

The tournament, scheduled to hold at Gbeleyi Primary School, Amje, Ojokoro, Lagos, will gather young football talents from across the community, promoting not only the beautiful game but also values of teamwork, resilience, and discipline.

Omisore described the tournament as a symbol of unity and growth within the community, noting its evolution into a flagship event that reflects purposeful leadership and community spirit.

“As we kick off the 20th edition of this tournament, we are ushering in a new era of service, support, and shared progress in Ojokoro,” he said. “For me, this day is about more than football—it’s a testament to our commitment to nurturing future leaders and supporting our people.”

In addition to the sporting event, Omisore announced the distribution of 750 food palliatives to families across Ojokoro LCDA, reinforcing his dedication to inclusive development and welfare support.

He also used the occasion to unveil his community development blueprint tagged “S.E.R.V.I.C.E to Y.O.U”, an acronym representing his strategic focus on Security, Empowerment, Religious Tolerance, Values, Innovation, Care, and Equality—all tailored towards uplifting the youth and transforming the Ojokoro community.

“Our goal is to build a community where everyone feels secure, supported, and empowered,” Omisore said. “We are investing in young people, embracing innovation, and promoting equality to unlock the full potential of our constituents.”

He emphasized that through these strategic pillars, his vision is to position Ojokoro LCDA as a benchmark for effective grassroots governance and sustainable development.

The 20th KOLAtoons tournament is expected to draw participation from teams across the LCDA and promises to be a thrilling celebration of sports, community, and progress.
