Dr John Olatchy Momoh, OON, renowned media entrepreneur and Founder of Channels Media Group, owners of Channels Television, has been conferred with an Honorary Fellowship by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

The conferment took place at the ongoing 2nd Nigeria Spokespersons’ Summit in Abuja and recognises Dr Momoh’s outstanding contributions to media development and public communication in Nigeria. As Chairman of Channels Media Group, his commitment to ethical journalism and nation-building has positioned Channels Television as a leading voice in credible news reporting across Africa.

With over four decades of experience in broadcast journalism, Dr Momoh is celebrated for redefining television news in Nigeria and setting industry standards that continue to influence the media landscape nationally and internationally. His leadership has earned Channels Television numerous awards, including an International Emmy nomination.

Accepting the honour, Dr Momoh expressed gratitude to the NIPR, stating that the recognition serves as both encouragement and a renewed call to uphold the principles of integrity, professionalism, and public service through impactful journalism.

The NIPR Fellowship is the Institute’s highest honour, reserved for individuals who have demonstrated exceptional influence in advancing the practice of public relations and communication in Nigeria. Dr Momoh’s conferment reaffirms his status as a national asset and a guiding force in the evolution of responsible media.
