The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced the pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS) at its filling stations in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, from N950 to N935 per litre.
According to observations by Daily Post, the price adjustment was reflected across several NNPCL retail outlets by Saturday morning. Residents confirmed the reduction, with Abdullahi Hashim of Kubwa noting the change and describing it as a “welcome development.” Another resident, Bukola Adewole, reported noticing the new price earlier in the Wuse Zone 4 area.
This latest development follows Dangote Refinery’s decision to cut its ex-depot petrol price from N865 to N835 per litre. The 650,000-barrels-per-day refinery also announced that its partner stations, including MRS and AP, should sell petrol between N890 and N920, depending on location.
However, BusinessNG also reported that MRS filling stations in Abuja have not dispensed fuel since April 16, when the new ex-depot price was announced.
The move by NNPCL is expected to influence broader market pricing trends as local refining begins to pressure import-based suppliers.
