President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised Mrs. Nonye Soludo, the First Lady of Anambra State, for her unwavering support to the First Lady of the Federal Republic, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in the course of national service.

The President gave the commendation during a high-profile ceremony in Awka, Anambra State, on Thursday, May 8, 2025, shortly after commissioning several landmark projects initiated by Governor Chukwuma Soludo. These include the newly constructed Government House and Lodge, a comprehensive complex featuring the Governor’s Office and Residence, the Deputy Governor’s Building, 24 auxiliary structures, a state-of-the-art amphitheatre, and a modern auditorium.

Also commissioned was an eight-lane road named in honour of Emeka Anyaoku, a former Commonwealth Secretary-General and proud son of Anambra State, as well as the expansive Solution Fun City, a recreational facility developed to promote leisure and community engagement in Awka.

Addressing dignitaries and the public, President Tinubu said:
“The First Lady of Anambra State, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, thank you for always being there for the First Lady of Nigeria. Your inspiring support is deeply appreciated.”

The President, who referred to Governor Soludo as “the Solution,” lauded his leadership and developmental strides, describing Anambra under his administration as an emerging “Dubai-Taiwan Silicon Valley” in Nigeria. He added:
“Anambra is rising, and we are ready to work with you.”

President Tinubu also highlighted the governor’s transformation across key sectors such as education, healthcare, transportation, security, innovation, and agriculture. He recalled Soludo’s track record of excellence, notably during his tenure as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, which saw the successful banking consolidation era.

He noted that while party differences exist, he values progressive achievers like Soludo and shares a productive relationship with him.

In his remarks, Governor Soludo expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his visit and leadership. He reaffirmed the commitment of his party, APGA, to align with the Federal Government, stating:
“APGA, being an older progressive party than the APC, resolved in 2015 to support the government at the centre. That policy remains unchanged. As a federalist and a progressive, I find common ground with the New Hope agenda of this administration.”

Governor Soludo emphasized his administration’s commitment to delivering transformational governance to the people of Anambra State.
