The Federal Ministry of Finance, Abuja, on Friday celebrated excellence in public service with a Human Resource Award and Recognition Ceremony, honouring staff who have displayed exceptional professionalism, commitment, and innovation.

At the event, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya, applauded the awardees and all staff for their dedication. She described the Rewards and Recognition System (RRS) as a vital tool for enhancing morale, motivation, and productivity in the civil service.

“It is our commitment to create a highly professional and competent workforce that will drive economic growth and development in Nigeria,” she stated.

Mrs. Jafiya reiterated the Ministry’s resolve to uphold transparency, accountability, and efficient financial management in alignment with national development priorities. She also acknowledged the visionary leadership of the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, and the Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, for their policy direction and reforms.

The Permanent Secretary equally commended her counterpart, Permanent Secretary Special Duties, Mr. Raymond Omenka Omachi, as well as senior management and staff for their unwavering cooperation.

She also extended appreciation to the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, for championing reforms that foster professionalism in the federal workforce.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Director of Human Resource Management, Mrs. Aderonke Abimbola Jaiyesimi, emphasized the importance of celebrating staff dedication.

“Today, we come together to celebrate the excellence, commitment, discipline, and professionalism our colleagues have consistently demonstrated,” she said.
“The reward for hard work is more work — an opportunity to lead by example and continue raising the bar.”

Responding on behalf of the honorees, Mrs. Loveline Nzonwanne expressed gratitude for the recognition, pledging continued dedication to duty.

“We are truly humbled to receive these awards. It is a recognition of our hard work and dedication. We assure you of our total loyalty and commitment,” she said.
