The Federal Government has commenced payment of the N35,000 wage award arrears to federal civil servants.

In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) confirmed the disbursement, noting that many workers have already received the payments, while others will receive theirs soon.

The OAGF clarified that the Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Babatunde Ogunjimi, never stated that the wage award was excluded from the 2025 budget, contrary to reports circulating on some online platforms.

The statement further emphasized that Mr. Ogunjimi did not brief the media on the matter and assured that all outstanding arrears will be settled in line with the government’s commitment.

According to the OAGF, the arrears are being paid in instalments of N35,000 over a five-month period.

The clarification was signed by Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press and Public Relations.
