Some of Nigeria’s most prominent corporate players and financial institutions are throwing their weight behind the SUPERNEWS Artificial Intelligence Confab 2025, slated to hold at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Thursday, June 19, 2025, starting at 10 a.m.

Among the top-tier supporters of the conference are Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), Zenith Bank Plc, Leadway Assurance Company Limited, Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc (STI), Guinea Insurance Plc, Stanbic IBTC Insurance, Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), and International Energy Insurance Plc (IEI). Others include Ugooafunwa Investment Company Ltd, Zonaish Global Resources, Dontex Ventures Nigeria, and Big Gate Africa.

Appreciating the broad support, the Convener and Publisher of SUPERNEWS Nigeria, Ngozi Onyeakusi, expressed deep gratitude to the participating organisations and individual supporters. She singled out NLNG, Leadway Assurance, and Sovereign Trust Insurance for their unwavering support for SUPERNEWS Nigeria’s annual conference over the years.

This year’s edition, themed “Power of AI: Enhancing Efficiency and Customer Satisfaction for Better Financial Services Experience,” aims to explore the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in the financial services ecosystem — from banking and insurance to pensions and the capital market.

Mr Johnson Chukwu, Managing Director of Cowry Asset Management Limited, will deliver the keynote address, while Alhaji (Dr) Umaru Kwairanga will serve as Chairman of the occasion.

The event will also host distinguished Special Guests of Honour including the Commissioner for Insurance, Mr Olusegun Ayo Omosehin of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), and the Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Mrs Omolola Oloworaran.

An impressive lineup of guest speakers is also confirmed, including:

  • Mrs Adeolu Adewumi-Zer, Founder/CEO, ZER Consulting Africa
  • Mrs Thaibat Adeniran, former Managing Director, Hilal Takaful Insurance Limited
  • Dr Uju Ogubunka, National President, Bank Customers Association of Nigeria (BCAN)
  • Mr Ayokunle Olubunmi, Head, Financial Institutions Ratings, Augusto & Co.

According to Onyeakusi, the 2025 confab will highlight how AI is reshaping core operations in the financial services sector, particularly in automation, customer engagement, fraud detection, and risk management.

She described the conference as a strategic learning platform aimed at increasing awareness and deepening understanding of Artificial Intelligence tools and applications that can make financial services cheaper, faster, safer, and more accessible.

SUPERNEWS Nigeria’s decision to focus on AI in this year’s event, she added, stems from its commitment to equipping stakeholders with the knowledge required to embrace emerging tech innovations in an increasingly digital financial environment.
