The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), in collaboration with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), has held a capacity-building workshop on the Group Life Assurance Policy in Abuja. The training brought together participants from ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to deepen their understanding of the policy and ensure more effective implementation.

Speaking at the event, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, represented by Mrs. Oyekunle Patience, described insurance as a vital tool for protecting the welfare of public servants and their families. She commended President Bola Tinubu for renewing the annuity policy and lauded NAICOM for championing the initiative to educate civil servants.

On his part, the Commissioner for Insurance, Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, represented by the Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration, Mr. Ekerete Ola Gam-Ikon, praised the collaboration with OHCSF. He reiterated NAICOM’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous stakeholder engagement in the administration of insurance policies.

The workshop focused on equipping federal civil servants with the knowledge and tools needed to properly manage and take full advantage of the Group Life Assurance Policy. As part of the Federal Government’s welfare package, the policy offers financial security to the families of deceased public servants.

The event is seen as a major step toward strengthening the implementation of life assurance across the civil service, reinforcing the government’s commitment to employee welfare and policy efficiency.
