In a landmark development for Nigeria’s renewable energy sector, Auxano Solar has achieved international recognition with the award of IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 certifications for its solar panels. This makes Auxano the first Nigerian solar panel assembler to meet the globally recognized safety, performance, and durability standards set by TÜV Rheinland.
The certifications mark a significant leap forward for the country’s clean energy ambitions and open the door for Auxano’s participation in utility-scale projects and global export markets. The company’s progress was enabled by technical and venture-building support from the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) and All On Hub, a leading off-grid energy catalyst backed by Shell.

Auxano’s certification strengthens Nigeria’s clean energy value chain and increases the credibility of locally produced solar products in both public and private sector markets. The company is now better positioned to contribute to major energy access programs such as the Nigeria Electrification Project (NEP) and the DARES program, supported by institutions like the World Bank, AfDB, GEAPP, SEforALL, and the Rockefeller Foundation.
Operating since 2016, Auxano Solar runs a 100MW-capacity solar panel assembly plant in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, and has already distributed nearly 15MW of solar panels across Nigeria. With this certification, the company is set to scale its impact and contribute meaningfully to the electrification of Africa’s underserved communities.
