Consumers across Nigeria and in the diaspora now have the opportunity to shape the marketplace as BrandXchange officially opens voting for the 2025 edition of the Consumers Value Awards (CVA). The voting portal — www.consumersvalueawards.com/votes — went live today, allowing users to vote for more than 200 nominated brands, including, for the first time, several federal government agencies.
Now in its fourth consecutive year, the CVA has become a credible consumer-driven platform celebrating brand trust, performance, and accountability. This year’s theme, “Beyond Prices: Consumer Trust, Digital Experience & Brand Accountability,” reflects the evolving expectations of consumers in a digital-first economy.
A key highlight of this year’s edition is the inclusion of federal agencies on the ballot, nominated by the public based on real service experiences. “This is the first time federal agencies are making it to the voting stage. It shows how much awareness and interest consumers now have in public service delivery,” said Akonte Ekine, Convener of the Consumers Value Awards.
Unlike traditional award models, the CVA prides itself on its people-first process. Votes are cast solely by consumers, not by panels or industry judges. To maintain credibility, a one-time password (OTP) system has been introduced — each vote must be verified by email, ensuring one vote per person across all categories.
“This award is not influenced by politics or business alliances,” Ekine stated. “We do not include state governors or politically exposed personalities. The CVA is purely focused on consumer service delivery and performance. It’s about rewarding brands and institutions that truly serve the public well.”
Voting will remain open for 60 days, closing on September 30, 2025. With over 200 options spanning consumer goods, fitness brands, digital platforms, and now public institutions, the awards aim to drive feedback that matters and encourage both private and public sectors to raise their game.
Consumers are encouraged to visit the voting portal, take stock of their everyday service experiences, and vote for brands and institutions that have delivered value.
