Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has pledged his administration’s full support for pension sector reforms during a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, in Abuja.
Governor Ododo congratulated Ms. Oloworaran on her appointment, describing her as a proud daughter of Kogi State. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to pensioners’ welfare, citing measures already in place to ensure regular gratuity payments and clear outstanding liabilities.
The Governor noted that his advocacy for pension reforms predated his assumption of office, stressing that workers and retirees in Kogi deserve a system that guarantees dignity and security after active service.
Responding, Ms. Oloworaran commended Governor Ododo’s dedication to retirees’ welfare and his efforts in tackling pension challenges. She assured the Commission’s readiness to collaborate with Kogi State to strengthen pension administration and improve financial security for workers.
Both parties ended the meeting with a renewed commitment to build a sustainable and transparent pension system for the state’s workforce and retirees.
