Rotary Club of Ojodu has reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment by sponsoring 15 young participants at the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) 2025, held from August 17 to 24, 2025.
The closing ceremony, hosted on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Sea School, Apapa , Lagos, brought together young leaders in a vibrant display of talent, resilience, and teamwork. The event featured activities, games, and motivational talks from seasoned speakers, all aimed at preparing participants—known as “Rylarians”—for leadership and service.
This year’s academy, themed “Empowering Young Leaders to Unite for Good,” provided intensive training in leadership, teamwork, and the Rotary principles of service and integrity.
The closing ceremony was co-hosted by Rotary Clubs of Ojodu and Maryland, Ikeja, underscoring Rotary’s collaborative spirit.
Speaking at the event, President of Rotary Club of Ojodu, Rotarian Martins Nnanna, praised the dedication of the Rylarians. “Investing in young leaders is the surest way to build stronger communities and a brighter future. These Rylarians have shown passion, discipline, and the willingness to serve, and we are proud to support them, ” he said.
District Governor, Rotarian Prince Henry Akinyele, commended the Rotary Club of Ojodu for co-hosting the ceremony and for its continued support of the district. He noted that the club started the Rotary year with the donation of a backdrop for the Bank PHB Hall at the Rotary Centre, GRA Ikeja.
