All is set for the 2025 Transportation Correspondents Association of Nigeria (TCAN) Summit as key ministers, regulators, and industry leaders gear up to converge on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

The Ministers of Transport and Marine & Blue Economy have confirmed participation in the high-profile event, which has become the nation’s foremost platform for dialogue on pressing issues in the transport sector.

Now in its second edition after a successful debut in 2024, this year’s summit carries the theme: “Driving the Transport Logistics Value Chains for Economic Growth.”

The Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Dr. Kayode Opeifa, will deliver the keynote address, setting the stage for thought-provoking panel discussions. Topics include intermodal cargo evacuation from ports, enforcement of waterways transportation codes, Nigeria’s 100 years of aviation—gains and gaps—and maritime insecurity with its implications on trade routes.

Heavyweight participants include the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIOTA), Dangote Industries, and Trucks Transit Park (TTP), among others.

According to TCAN Chairman, Mr. Tola Adenubi, the summit is designed as a “solutions forum” for all stakeholders—operators, regulators, and investigators—to chart a collective path forward for Nigeria’s transport logistics value chain.

“We are thrilled by the interest this summit has generated,” Adenubi said. “It will galvanize real actions to optimize opportunities in our transportation system and improve the living standards of Nigerians.”

He urged transport companies and organizations to use the platform to showcase their contributions and innovations in logistics development.

TCAN, a subgroup of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), comprises journalists across print, broadcast, and online media who cover Nigeria’s transport and logistics sector.
