Stanbic IBTC Bank has partnered with the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce-Nigeria (CGC-NIG) to host a two-day badminton competition in Abuja, reinforcing its commitment to sports development and community engagement.
The tournament, which featured singles, doubles, and team matches, drew enthusiastic participation from the Chinese business community in Nigeria. The games delivered thrilling rallies and fierce competition, keeping spectators engaged throughout.
Speaking at the event, Eric Fajemisin, Executive Director, Corporate and Transaction Banking, Stanbic IBTC Bank, said the initiative reflects the bank’s broader mission of supporting activities that foster teamwork, wellness, and empowerment.
“By sponsoring this tournament, we aim to inspire teamwork, promote a healthy lifestyle, and enhance community engagement among young people,” he noted.
The highlight of the competition was the team category, where the Huawei squad emerged champions, clinching the coveted group trophy. Individual winners were also rewarded with prizes and accolades in a spirited closing ceremony.
