The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has continued its engagement with media stakeholders as part of efforts to deepen insurance awareness and strengthen public trust in the sector.
At the just concluded 2025 NAICOM seminar for insurance journalists in Abeokuta, the Commission’s top management, including Commissioner for Insurance, Olusegun Omosehin, Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration, Ekerete Ola Gam-Ikon, and Deputy Commissioner for Technical, Dr. Usman Jankara, met with members of the Nigerian Association of Insurance and Pension Editors (NAIPE).
The seminar, which has become a critical platform for knowledge sharing, is designed to update journalists on regulatory initiatives, industry performance, and emerging challenges facing the insurance market. By bringing regulators and editors together, the forum aims to promote accurate reporting, constructive industry dialogue, and improved public enlightenment on the role of insurance in national development.
Participants noted that the collaboration between NAICOM and the media is vital to addressing low penetration levels in the industry, encouraging policy uptake, and dispelling misconceptions that have limited growth over the years.
The Abeokuta session underscores NAICOM’s renewed push for stronger partnerships with the press as it drives reforms to expand coverage, enforce compliance, and improve service delivery in Nigeria’s insurance landscape.
