The Federal Ministry of Finance has disowned a viral video circulating on social media alleging that one of its directors refused to vacate office space upon retirement.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the ministry described the allegations as “unfounded and baseless,” stressing that the individual in question is not a staff member of the Finance Ministry.

Mohammed Manga, Director of Information and Public Relations, who signed the disclaimer, clarified that the alleged dispute is connected to a different ministry entirely. He emphasized that the Ministry of Finance has no involvement in the matter and should not be linked to the controversy.

“The Federal Ministry of Finance wishes to clarify that the Director allegedly involved in the retirement dispute is not a staff member of our Ministry. We unequivocally dissociate ourselves from any issues or circumstances surrounding the retirement of the said Director,” Manga stated.

The ministry also urged Nigerians to verify information through official channels and disregard false claims. It reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, decorum, and respect in workplace transitions.
