In line with Rotary International’s Areas of Focus, and in commemoration of Basic Education and Literacy Month (September 2025), Rotary Club of Ojodu organised a project to support pupils of Agidingbi Primary School, Ikeja. On Tuesday, 30 September 2025, the Club distributed school bags, textbooks, and sandals to the pupils, helping to promote access to basic education.
The Management, Staff, and Students of the school warmly welcomed the gesture. The students, whose joy knew no bounds, expressed delight and gratitude for the educational items, which will ease their learning experience and comfort.
Speaking at the event, the School Manager, Mrs. Oseni Fatimah Olasumbo, thanked Rotary Club of Ojodu for adopting the school as a beneficiary of its projects and urged the Club to continue its support.
Responding, the President of the Rotary Club of Ojodu, Rotarian Martins Nnanna, expressed gratitude to God, to the Board, and to members of the Club for making the project a reality. He reaffirmed Rotary’s commitment to supporting government efforts in education, noting that primary education is vital to human development.
The Club had previously donated a 24-hour solar-powered school sick bay to the school, further demonstrating its ongoing commitment to the welfare of pupils and the local community.
Since receiving its charter on 8 March 2005, Rotary Club of Ojodu has remained steadfast in its mission: “Passionate in Solving Global Problems, Starting with Our Community.” Over the years, the Club has carried out numerous impactful service projects, reflecting the true spirit of Rotary’s vision of service above self.
