The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has commenced the payment of approved pension increments on the payroll, following the partial release of ₦20.188 billion from the total approved ₦45 billion.

The increments include ₦32,000 fixed increase, and 10.66% and 12.95% adjustments, aimed at boosting pensioners’ monthly entitlements.

PTAD noted that the disbursement reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of retirees, ensuring timely payment and gradual implementation of the approved increments despite budgetary constraints. Pensioners are expected to see the revised amounts reflected in their next payroll cycle, with the agency assuring that remaining funds will be released in due course to fully implement the approved adjustments.

Officials highlighted that this step is part of ongoing efforts to modernize pension administration, improve transparency, and provide retirees with a predictable and reliable income stream, reinforcing public confidence in the country’s pension system.
