The Federal Government has announced plans to strengthen collaboration with Africa’s leading fintech company, Flutterwave Technology Solutions Limited, to accelerate Nigeria’s digital economy and deepen financial inclusion.
This followed a strategic meeting held on Friday in Abuja between the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, representatives of Flutterwave, and the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI).
During the meeting, Flutterwave showcased how its cross-border payment infrastructure is facilitating trade, expanding financial access, and supporting entrepreneurship across more than 30 African countries.
Mr. Edun commended the fintech company for its innovative contributions to Africa’s financial ecosystem, noting that the Federal Government remains committed to initiatives that empower small businesses and promote inclusive growth.
He emphasized that strategic partnerships with private sector innovators like Flutterwave are essential to positioning Nigeria as a leader in Africa’s ongoing digital transformation.
According to a statement signed by Mohammed Manga, Director of Information and Public Relations, the meeting concluded with an agreement to develop a roadmap for collaboration.
Once finalized, the partnership is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s digital infrastructure, enhance cross-border payments, and boost investor confidence in the country’s rapidly expanding innovation landscape.
