As the November 8 Anambra governorship election draws near, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Ejimofor Opara, has declared that the party is set for a landslide victory across the state.

Opara attributed APGA’s confidence to the outstanding performance of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, whose administration has transformed critical sectors of Anambra’s economy. He noted that even President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently commended Soludo’s developmental strides during the commissioning of landmark projects in the state — achievements he described as setting a new record in the Southeast.

Speaking on the party’s readiness, Opara revealed that APGA’s campaign strategy is anchored on massive grassroots mobilisation and voter engagement. “Our goal is not just to win the 21 local governments, but all 5,720 polling units in Anambra. On a scale of one to ten, our opponents are still struggling to reach one, while Governor Soludo is already on a perfect ten,” he said confidently.

He dismissed as baseless the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s criticism of the N50 million signage fee, explaining that the Anambra State Advertising and Signage Agency was legally established to regulate outdoor advertisements. “If the APC has concerns, they should engage the agency instead of making noise in the media,” Opara advised.

Reacting to APC’s claim of victory in the forthcoming election, Opara said, “Everyone is entitled to their dreams, even bad ones. The APC in Anambra is a toothless bulldog. Their candidate lacks the backing of their national leadership, including President Tinubu. If they claim to exist, let them show their ward, local government, and state structures.”

On allegations that campaign donations for the governor were sourced from local government funds, Opara dismissed them as false. “No local government has said its allocation was withheld. Those donating to the governor are genuine supporters who believe in his vision. If the APC has proof, let them go to the EFCC. He who alleges must prove,” he stated.

Opara emphasized that Governor Soludo’s candidacy enjoys broad public endorsement beyond party lines. “Soludo is not just APGA’s candidate; he’s the people’s consensus candidate,” he declared.

Responding to claims that Soludo was attempting to distract the APC candidate by raising questions about his qualifications, Opara insisted that eligibility is a constitutional matter. “If your certificate is genuine, there’s nothing to fear. Anyone with questionable credentials should step aside — the integrity of the electoral process must be protected,” he concluded.
