The first African team to make it to the tournament was our girls. With their participation in the tournament, it gives us hope that there is a lot of potential in our women and we shall continue to give them the needed support so that they can continue to represent us well in global tournaments”, the commissioner added.

Now, I sat with the NFF President here and we have been discussing and deliberating on Nigerian football and the way forward.
“We as a bank felt proud to support the NFF and all of the national teams for the next four years. We have been on that since last year. So, we know what it entails to support the teams and it is part of our social responsibility, and investments that the returns may not come quickly.

It is part of the sacrifices we make to create platforms for our youths to express themselves in their chosen career.

“So, I thank TotalEnergies for putting this together, I thank you for your commitment towards Sports development in Africa and beyond. We will not relent, we will continue to support Nigerian football and we will continue to do what we can to support sports to ensure that our youth move to the next level and make us proud.
