
The Rotary Club of Ojodu has reaffirmed its commitment to community service and public health by successfully hosting the first round of the 2025 Rotary Family Health Days (RFHD) from November 7 to 8, 2025

.
The two-day medical outreach, held at the open space opposite Ojodu Primary Health Centre, Okeira, attracted over 500 residents of the Ojodu community, who benefited from a wide range of free medical services.
The exercise was supported by a dedicated team of medical practitioners, nurses, and staff from the Ojodu Health Centre, who also administered polio vaccines to children in attendance—further advancing Rotary’s global fight against polio

Residents benefited from several essential health services, including:
Prostate Cancer (PSA) Screening
Eye Checks and Eye Care Services
Blood Sugar Tests
Family Planning and Counselling
Malaria Screening and Treatment
HIV Counselling and Testing
Hypertension Screening and Management
Hepatitis B & C Screening
Cervical Cancer Screening

Speaking at the event, the 2025 RFHD Chairperson, Rotarian Johnpaul Chigbo, expressed delight at the successful turnout. He noted that despite the absence of the usual support from Rotary District 9111 this year, the club remained resolute in its mission to make a positive impact. He thanked the Club President, Board Members, and all Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Ojodu for their generous donations, which made the outreach possible despite current economic challenges.
Also present at the event was the Councillor representing Ward D and Deputy Leader of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Lanre Ogunnoiki, who commended the Rotary Club for the initiative. He expressed joy that his constituents were the major beneficiaries of the health outreach, describing it as a timely and compassionate intervention.

In his remarks, the President of Rotary Club of Ojodu, Rotarian Martins Nnanna, expressed gratitude to the Ojodu community for their enthusiastic participation. He also appreciated club members for their unwavering commitment, dedication, and support, which ensured the success of the event.
The Rotary Family Health Day (RFHD) is one of Rotary International’s flagship humanitarian programmes, providing free and quality healthcare services to underserved communities around the world—a true demonstration of Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self.”
