Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers has been named Best Pension Fund Administrator (PFA) Nigeria 2025 at the Global Banking & Finance Awards®, reinforcing its reputation as one of the country’s leading pension providers.

The global recognition highlights the company’s commitment to safeguarding the financial future of millions of Nigerians and advancing innovation within the pension industry. Since 2011, the Global Banking & Finance Awards® has honoured outstanding financial institutions driving excellence and sustainable growth worldwide.

Reacting to the award, Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, Olumide Oyetan, said the honour affirms the organisation’s purpose-driven approach to pension management. “We are honoured by this global recognition, which reaffirms our promise to Nigerians to help them retire well. Our focus remains on delivering consistent value, transparency, and peace of mind through innovation and sound governance,” he said.

Also speaking, Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC, Chukwuma Nwokocha, commended the Pension Managers team for their consistency and alignment with the group’s mission of wealth creation and financial inclusion. He described the pension arm as a “cornerstone” of the group’s wealth building strategy.

With over two million Retirement Savings Accounts under management, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers has built a strong footprint in Nigeria’s pension sector, leveraging technology driven solutions and robust investment strategies to enhance service delivery.

In 2025, the organisation intensified its engagement efforts with a nationwide
Pre Retirement Seminar Series held in Kaduna, Jos, Benin, Ibadan, and Enugu, reaching more than 4,500 participants. The PFA also hosted a two day Employers’ Forum attended by over 1,200 stakeholders, focusing on the PSSP platform, pension benefits processing, and self-service optimisation.

Other notable initiatives include the Ladies At The Table Empowerment Series (LATTES), Financial Fitness and Retire Well Sessions, and the youth-focused FUZE Talent Show, which recorded over 10,000 entries in its fourth season. The firm also continued community outreach through school programmes and marketplace pension awareness drives.

Following new regulatory guidelines by PenCom, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers is further promoting the Personal Pension Plan (PPP) for self-employed and informal sector workers, as well as the Foreign Exchange Pension Contribution (Dollar Pension) for Nigerians in the diaspora, dollar earners, and foreign nationals working in Nigeria.

These initiatives, alongside the global award, underscore the company’s ongoing commitment to expanding pension access and strengthening long term financial security for Nigerians.
