Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers reaffirmed its commitment to creativity, knowledge, and community development as it took centre stage at the 10th edition of ART X Lagos with its sponsored installation, The Library.

The 2025 fair, themed “Imagining Otherwise, No Matter the Tide,” explored how imagination can shape the future of African cities. Against this backdrop, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, a subsidiary of Stanbic IBTC Holdings, introduced The Library an immersive space designed for reflection, learning, and cultural preservation.

Inspired by the resilience of Nigeria’s mangrove ecosystems, The Library featured curated books and visual materials from the Guest Artists Space (G.A.S.) Foundation, selections from the ART X curator’s research archive, ART X Cinema content, and works by renowned artist Bruce Onobrakpeya. The installation offered visitors a contemplative escape within the fair, highlighting the role of ideas and storytelling in shaping society.

Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, Olumide Oyetan, said the fair’s theme mirrors Nigeria’s enduring resilience and underscores the importance of imagination in long term planning and nation building. He described The Library as a space that inspires learning and hope, particularly for young people, while celebrating African creativity and cultural heritage.

As part of its broader engagement, the organisation also supported the ART X Kids Tour, which hosted 60 students from schools in Lagos and Ogun States, exposing them to contemporary art and nurturing early interest in visual expression.

Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers further curated a private VIP experience for high net worth clients, offering an exclusive view of standout artworks and discussions around creativity and legacy.

Since ART X Lagos debuted in 2016, Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers has evolved from a supporter to a strategic cultural partner, championing artistic expression and amplifying African voices. As the fair marks a decade, the organisation says it remains committed to deepening its cultural investments, promoting knowledge preservation, and strengthening community bonds through art.
