The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has successfully established its full party structure across all 287 political wards and 27 local government areas of Jigawa State. The exercise culminated in the election of executives at every level, in line with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines ahead of the campaign season.
During the state congress held at Hakimi Street, Gidan Illah, party members elected Adamu Hassan Abunabo Enmage as the new state chairman. Hajiya Hadiza Maigatari emerged as the Women Leader, while other elected officials include Adamu Tukur Miga, Ahmed Safiyanu, Yahaya M. Sagir, and Haruna Aliyu.
Additional members elected into various positions are Mutari Ya’u Taura, Hajiya Rashida Tanko, Kadija Maigatari, Alhaji Sunusi Gako, Hamisu Adamu, Audu Jikan Kaura, and Hajiya Tabawa Taura.
Speaking after the election, former gubernatorial candidate Alhaji Amina Ibrahim Ringim expressed satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the congresses from the ward to the state level. He stated that with the party’s structure now firmly in place across the state, the NNPP is fully prepared for the 2027 general elections.
Ringim expressed confidence that the NNPP would win at both state and national levels, noting that Nigerians are exhausted by rising insecurity and widespread poverty affecting their daily lives. He called on leaders at all levels to fear God and prioritize the protection of lives and property.
He criticized the APC-led government for failing to provide essential services such as quality education, accessible healthcare, and general welfare for citizens. Ringim further accused the government of injustice and neglect, saying it had not offered the needed support to the
