Nigerians consumed significantly less petrol from the Dangote Refinery in November 2025, according to new industrial data released by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
The NMDPRA Fact Sheet shows that out of the 52.9 million litres of petrol used daily across the country in November, only 19.5 million litres per day came from the Dangote Refinery.
Although the refinery had planned to supply 35 million litres per day throughout the month, it managed to evacuate an average of 23.52 million litres daily, up from 17.77 million litres recorded in October.
Despite a slight decline in national consumption—falling from 56.7 million litres per day in October to 52.9 million in November—the data reveals that Nigerians continue to depend heavily on imported petrol. Fuel imports surged sharply, accounting for 52.1 million litres per day of national consumption in November, up from 27.6 million litres daily the previous month.
Overall, the country’s total petrol supply increased dramatically, rising to 71.5 million litres per day in November compared to 46 million litres per day in October.
Meanwhile, petrol prices in Abuja ranged between N910 and N937 per litre, following multiple price reductions by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and other major retail outlets.
