The Jigawa State Police Command has recorded significant successes in its fight against crime with the arrest of suspected armed robbers and thieves and the recovery of five stolen motorcycles across several divisions in the state.

In Ringim Local Government Area, police received a distress call that about five armed miscreants, wielding a dane gun, machetes and sticks, invaded the residence of Alhaji Daguzau and stole an unregistered red Boxer motorcycle. A prompt response by the Ringim Division patrol team led to the arrest of two suspects, Isa Idi (20) and Mansur Haruna (22), both from Ilorawa settlement in Jahun LGA, who were found in possession of the motorcycle.

In a related operation, police in Sara Division intercepted Umar Wada (20) of Kofar Fada Quarters, Sabuwar Gwaram town, with a red Lifan motorcycle bearing Bauchi registration number TFB 285 UU. Preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle was stolen from a residence in Kofar Fada, Sabuwar Gwaram.

Similarly, operatives of Yankwashi Division arrested Yahaya Baushe (28) of Fanteka village with an unregistered red Daylong motorcycle, which investigation confirmed was stolen from Murden Gangare village in Yankwashi LGA.

In Garki Division, police recovered a Boxer motorcycle abandoned by suspected robbers who had earlier attacked a motorcyclist and inflicted serious injuries before fleeing the scene.

Meanwhile, in Kazaure LGA, police in collaboration with the Community Neighborhood Watch arrested three suspects in possession of a red Daylong motorcycle and three jerry cans of cooking oil suspected to be stolen.

All suspects have been arraigned in court for prosecution. The Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, commended the officers and urged residents to remain law-abiding and promptly report suspicious activities to the police.
