In a move aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration and supporting democratic governance, the Kaugama Local Government Council has completed the renovation of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in the area.

The renovated facility now provides a more conducive working environment for INEC staff, coming at a critical time when the commission is conducting voter registration for eligible citizens aged 18 years and above.

Prior to the intervention, the INEC office was in a state of disrepair and had been largely abandoned due to years of inadequate maintenance, posing challenges to electoral operations within the local government.

Commending the initiative, the Electoral Officer for Kaugama, Malam Sadik Bello, praised the council’s leadership during a telephone conversation with the Local Government Information Officer. He specifically lauded the Council Chairman for honoring his commitment to support INEC’s operations at the grassroots level.

The renovation project fulfills a pledge earlier made by the Council Chairman, Honourable Usman Masaki Dan Sule, during a working visit by the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Honourable Lawal Garba Bullet.

Reaffirming his administration’s dedication to good governance, Chairman Dan Sule stated that the council remains committed to complementing the 12-point agenda of Governor Umar Namadi’s administration.

“We are determined to support the state government’s developmental vision and ensure that our people fully enjoy the dividends of democracy,” the chairman said
