The Omi Eko Project, a €410 million initiative to transform Lagos’ waterway transport, has appointed Dr. Segun Alabi as its Head of Communications and Media.

The appointment was announced by Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, Special Adviser on Blue Economy to the Governor and Project Coordinator, who praised Dr. Alabi’s extensive experience in corporate affairs, media relations, and public policy.

Dr. Alabi, formerly Assistant Director of Corporate Affairs and Communications at the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), will lead the project’s media engagement, communication strategies, and public awareness campaigns.

He holds a PhD in English from the University of Lagos and is recognized for his expertise in stakeholder engagement, government relations, and corporate social responsibility.

Expressing his excitement, Dr. Alabi said, “Joining the Omi Eko Project is a dream come true. The task ahead is enormous, but achievable.”

Supported by the European Union and private sector partners, the Omi Eko Project aims to ease road congestion by unlocking Lagos’ underutilized waterways and promoting environmentally sustainable urban transport.
