Over 350 residents in Ogun Central Senatorial District have benefitted from a massive youth empowerment initiative organized by the Redemption Mission Group (RMG), complementing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renew Hope Agenda.
The beneficiaries received a wide range of items including tricycles, motorcycles, freezers, grinding machines, generators, bags of rice, clippers, fertilizers, sewing machines, rabbit packs, and cash grants, aimed at boosting livelihoods and promoting entrepreneurship.
The event, held at Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta, was attended by prominent dignitaries including Hon. Olumide Osoba, House of Representatives member for Abeokuta North/Obafemi-Owode/Odeda; Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly; Hon. Dr. Folashade Adeyemo, Odeda Local Government Chairman; senior special assistants to Governor Dapo Abiodun, party officials, and traditional leaders.
Speaking with journalists, RMG Convener Hon. Oyekunle Adebayo, JP, explained that the empowerment drive reflects the group’s commitment to positively transforming the lives of Ogun youths. He praised President Tinubu and Governor Abiodun for creating opportunities that foster youth development, describing the governor as youth-friendly.
Hon. Adebayo also expressed heartfelt gratitude to Chief Olusegun Osoba, national leader of the APC and former Ogun governor, for his mentorship, financial support, and encouragement in helping RMG grow into a respected platform for community development.
He recounted the origin of the group: “RMG began with the guidance of Rt. Hon. Elemide, who encouraged me to build a separate organization while generously sharing the name ‘Redemption Mission Group’. Today, that seed has grown into a tree bearing fruit for hundreds of youths.”
Hon. Adebayo urged beneficiaries to utilize the materials and cash grants responsibly, stressing that the support is meant to create opportunities, not to be sold.
In their remarks, Olumide Osoba and Rt. Hon. Elemide commended RMG for its dedication to giving back to the community and encouraged the group to sustain its efforts.
The program concluded with the presentation of Awards of Excellence to dignitaries who had supported RMG’s mission, celebrating their contributions to the group’s ongoing success.
