As the 2027 general elections draw nearer, political activities across the country are gaining momentum, with many office holders seeking re-election while others aspire to new positions.
Among those who have clearly distinguished themselves is Hon. Igbalaye Wasiu Ayodele, popularly known as IWA, a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly representing Abeokuta South State Constituency II under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Newsangle Online, Hon. IWA stands out not only as a lawmaker but also as a committed philanthropist whose impact extends beyond politics. Through his personal foundation and legislative initiatives, he has consistently touched lives, particularly empowering youths and women across his constituency.
Hon. Igbalaye Wasiu Ayodele is widely regarded as one of the most effective legislators in the Ogun State House of Assembly, having lived up to the expectations of his constituents since assuming office. His achievements so far have earned him a place in the annals of the state’s legislative history.
Fondly referred to as “Mr. Kosheleri,” IWA has a long-standing tradition of giving back to society, even before his emergence as a lawmaker. His passion for grassroots development has remained unwavering, translating into tangible benefits for the people he represents.
During the celebration of his first year in office, Hon. IWA empowered over 100 residents with cash grants, sewing machines, grinding machines, makeup kits and other essential tools to promote self-reliance. The aged and persons living with disabilities were also included in the empowerment programme, underscoring his inclusive approach to leadership.
In addition to empowerment initiatives, the lawmaker has facilitated several community-based projects across Abeokuta South State Constituency II. These include the provision of boreholes in all wards, installation of solar streetlights, construction and rehabilitation of primary schools, and bridges to improve accessibility. He also introduced the “Ounje IWA” food support initiative, which continues to benefit many residents of the constituency.
Other notable achievements include a daily water supply project and the facilitation of appointments for party members as special advisers and consultants—efforts that further strengthened grassroots participation and earned him widespread recognition as Mr. Kosheleri.
A second term for Hon. Igbalaye Wasiu Ayodele, therefore, goes beyond political ambition. It represents continuity, stability and sustained development. The people of Abeokuta South State Constituency II stand to gain more by allowing him to consolidate on the solid foundation he has already laid.
