The Coordinator and members of the National Youth Parliament, Jigawa State Chapter, have unanimously called on the former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Alhaji Muhammad Babandede, to align with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The call was made during a well-attended sensitisation rally held in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, where participants emphasized the need for credible, experienced and reform-minded leaders to strengthen democratic governance in both Jigawa State and Nigeria at large.
Speaking at the rally, members of the Youth Parliament highlighted Alhaji Babandede’s national profile, strong security background and record of integrity, describing him as a strategic asset capable of contributing meaningfully to the ADC’s vision of transparent, people-oriented and secure governance.
The group expressed confidence that Babandede’s entry into the ADC would boost the party’s credibility, widen its national appeal and inspire confidence among young people, professionals, minority groups and security-conscious citizens across the state.
They further reaffirmed that the ADC remains a progressive political platform committed to inclusive politics, institutional reforms and sustainable national development.
The rally, which was conducted peacefully, formed part of ongoing efforts by the National Youth Parliament to mobilise citizens, promote issue-based political participation and deepen democratic awareness.
The Youth Parliament also reiterated its commitment to peaceful advocacy and principled politics in support of leaders who prioritise national unity, citizens’ welfare and the future of Nigeria.
