Cadbury Nigeria Plc, a subsidiary of Mondelēz International, has regained its position as Nigeria’s number one employer at the 2026 Top Employer Awards, moving up from second place in the previous year. This achievement marks the sixth consecutive year that the company has been certified as a Top Employer by the Amsterdam-based Top Employers Institute.
In a statement, the company’s Human Resources Director, Dr. Wole Odubayo, said the recognition reflects Cadbury Nigeria’s sustained commitment to its shared values and organisational objectives.
According to Dr. Odubayo, Cadbury Nigeria recorded perfect scores across several key assessment areas, including People and Business Strategy, Leadership, Performance Management, Career Development, and Learning and Development. The company also performed above benchmark in areas such as Employee Engagement, Sustainability, Digital HR, Talent Attraction, and Employer Branding.
“These outstanding results are a testament to our commitment to fostering a culture that supports the holistic growth of our people, provides opportunities for advancement, celebrates diverse talents and perspectives, and empowers employees to contribute meaningfully to our shared values and purpose of delivering delicious and iconic brands to consumers,” he said.
He added that the company remains focused on continuous improvement. “We are not resting on our laurels. We continue to strive to offer a best-in-class work environment, and our collective contributions make this possible.”
The statement, issued by Dr. Frederick Mordi, Cadbury Nigeria’s Corporate Communications and Government Affairs Manager for West Africa, further disclosed that the company won five major awards at the 2025 HR People Magazine Awards. These include Outstanding Employer Branding, Best Training, Learning and Development, Outstanding Employee Engagement, Outstanding Talent Management Strategy, and the coveted Employer of Choice award.
In addition, Cadbury Nigeria emerged first place in its sector at the HR Best Practice Award organised by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) in October 2025, and finished as first runner-up overall.
The Top Employers Institute is a global authority on recognising excellence in people practices. Each year, it certifies organisations that demonstrate outstanding human resource strategies, policies, and implementation through a rigorous evaluation process.
Participating organisations are assessed through the HR Best Practices Survey, which examines six core domains and 20 topics, including People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Wellbeing, and Sustainability. Certification as a Top Employer signifies an organisation’s commitment to creating a better work environment and advancing people-centred practices.
