He noted that plastic packaging waste poses significant environmental hazards and that sustainable packaging options like bioplastics, biodegradable films, and plant-based materials are essential for a circular economy.
The speakers emphasized that sustainable packaging is not only environmentally beneficial but also aligns with consumer preferences and market trends. Statistics show that 45% of customers prefer environmentally responsible brands, and 44% prioritize recycling and food waste reduction. Biodegradable packaging offers businesses a chance to enhance their reputation while minimizing environmental impact.
The event featured prominent speakers, including the Director-General of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Segun Ajayi, who emphasized the organization’s commitment to prioritizing consumer interests.
