Body: Bell Oil & Gas commissioned a multi-million-dollar pipe threading and valve assembly facility at the Lekki Free Zone in Lagos on Tuesday. The event was led by the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade, and Investment, Mrs. Folashade Ambrose-Medebem.

The NCDMB Executive Secretary praised Bell Oil & Gas for its forward-thinking investment, noting the facility’s potential to address growing industry needs for high-quality piping and threading services. With key projects like the Dangote Refinery and the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline ramping up demand, he highlighted how the new plant could reduce Nigeria’s reliance on imports, keeping economic benefits within the country.

Bell Oil & Gas CEO, Dr. Kayode Thomas, emphasized the facility as a testament to the effectiveness of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act of 2010. He detailed the plant’s 50,000-ton capacity for OCTG threading, machining, and repairs, which will be managed by Nigerian staff, and called for better financial support for local oil and gas projects, as banks were reluctant to fund the venture.

Governor Sanwo-Olu commended Bell Oil & Gas for its investment, promising continued state support in developing infrastructure at the Lekki Free Zone to foster such investments.
